Exhaust system Question
I am looking to upgrade the exhaust system on my RT with 1 of the 2 offered by Borla. I am looking for feedback as to which model to get.......140112 (the touring model) or 140125 (the aggressive model).
I want the engine to have a nice sound, but not too excessive. Does anyone have either of these, and what do you think???

I have the Borla performance model, which is a tuned exhaust. its not near as loud as say a FlowMaster (which I can not recommend from anything but simply being loud ). The Borla is a very good option to insure the effective flow without undue restriction, providing additional performance. Industry reviews are exceptional for the Borla performance over the MagnaFlow. I myself cannot tell you for certain exactlyhow much improvement there is over the stock offering from Dodge. I can say the audio range is very tolerable, likely not even loud enough to bother the neighbors at 3am.

Cute?! You call my Magnaflow, "cute"? OH, well. Maybe it is - LOL. I need to figure out, or hopefully SuperChips will figure out, this bad surge I have now when the engine is cold. Must be the idle circuit being messed up some. Still, gotta be getting close to SRT-8 teritory :-).

Whenever you change the exhaust, and intake systems you not only improve a range of performance but can reduce performance during other driving conditions. In order to raise the peak performance, you typically reduce low end torque. 97% of my driving does not keep the engine at redline, where that additional ~15 hp is applied. Instead, I decided to keep the low end performace that I do use 90% of the time and not make those changes. Now, I did add the Superchips Flashpaq to my car, and I am happy with the performance improvements.
The difference that the R/T engine has over the standard 5.7 Hemi comes from factory free flow exhaust. Show me the power difference from idle to redline in changing the R/T exhaust to an even free'r flowing exhaust (I'll bet it's less than you think) . Most comparisons seem to be vs the standard 5.7 Hemi, and not the R/T exhaust. I cannot believe that the performance gain/loss justifies the cost. I will give up horsepower for torque gains any day. The low end torque is what you feel when you press your foot to the floor, not the HP. The R/T hemi has tons of low end torque, and I do not want to give it up.

IXLR8 - I agree completely with what you're saying about torque. However, now I may not have completely understood you, but I'm wondering if you're confusing the "R/T Hemi" with the "Daytona" Hemi. I know the Daytona is rated at 350hp over the "R/T". But all the "standard" Hemis are R/Ts - as far as I know.
Having said that, I did notice a difference when I installed my Magnaflow system from off idle on up. And this was before the Flashpaq that reduces the torque management. The only thing I don't like about it is the "drumming" sound I get when the DMS kicks in and its running on 4 cylinders. Other than that, I'm very happy with it. Also, the dyno sheets I've seen (granted, these are from the manufacturers, so who knows) show a hp and torque increase pretty much a cross the board - from idle on up. Hey, no big deal. It's all fun, right!? But I think you confused the R/T Hemi and the Daytona Hemi.

The way I understand it is:
Charger 5.7 Hemi = 340 hp
Charger R/T any configuration = 350 hp
Charger Daytona has R/T + Flashy graphics = 350 hp
As long as you have the R/T package you already are gaining 10 hp from a free'r flowing exhaust.
