Condensation on Interior of windows on '06 Charger...
Hey guys....
I have a question for anyone who can help me out!! I have a buddy who in January bought a new 2006 Charger. Ever since hes had it, on cold days or even cool days with rain, the interior of the car windows is covered in condensation. It's been in and out of the dealer, and the Regional Manager for Chrysler in this area is saying that it's a "normal" occurence. All I can say is that I have never owned a care that has done that...
When he first got it in January, he actually had to scrape frost off of the inside of the windows. Now, engineers that work with my husband say that it could be an HVAC issue, or my dad says the weatherproofing is just no good. Anyone know anything about this or have the same problem??
Any advice would be appreciated.
THANKS!

smarie,
That is strange. I have never heard of that happening inside any correctly functioning vehicle.
If the Dodge Zone manager told me that was normal, I would ask him to him prove it. Show me any other Charger on the dealer lot that has condensation on the inside in the morning.
Let us know how this gets resolved.....

Yeah, I would go to the lot early in the morning, when your buddy's windows are wet, and look on the lot for any other new Chargers with the same deal. Then, make your complaint again with the evidence.

smarie117,
It sounds like there's an overabundance of moisture inside the car. Was the interior ever washed or soaked overly? That's the only real way condensation can form on the inside; there has to be latent moisture inside. The moisture is trying to evapaorate but can't.
Has your friend let his car dried out in the sun with the doors/windows open? That might help.
Another tip to reduce humidity inside the passenger compartment is to run the A/C. An air conditioner is a great de-humidifier. You can run the A/C even when it's cold, just turn the temp control up. The A/C is still working. I had a Honda Accord years ago that would fog up bad on rainy days and running the A/C helped alot (Honda even hooked up the controls so the A/C ran when you used the defrost setting).

Maybe there is moisture in the carpets. Take the floor mats out and see if the carpeting is wet. If so put newspaper on them for awhile and see if that will soak up the water.
New cars aren't supposed to be all moist inside, it ain't normal.
Where do you live? How's the weather these days?
