Default Hood Struts

I installed the factory Mopar Hood Struts last night adn I just wanted to say it is a great Mod. I highly recommend it.

I bought the struts from my Dodge dealer ($78) hoping to get a free install and I was shot down. The service guy didnt beleive me the car came w/o struts and walked out to my car to see for himself.

It literally took me 5 mins.
In case anyone cares you WILL NEED to tap the holes in the fender and amke sure you get the factory studs too.

The tap size it 8mmx1.25 just tap the holes in the upper fenderwell

When I put mine in, they were self tapping studs. I assumed this was for ease of installation at the assy line. Another interesting note, if you look in your manual of any picture shown under the hood, the struts are always shown. It seems they were meant to be there originally. Best Regards.

Great job!

As usual, I’m straddling the fence on this mod. I like the struts but I also like the old school look of the hood prop.

I would also like to know if the tap was mandatory or not.
