Default RE: Throttle Calibration

My reason is the same as mnboy...Pursuit driving course we had to take when I was a police officer...I would actually get my *** chewed out if i didnt drive with both feet. Another thing I learned and still do today is I dont buckle my seatbelt. I tuck it under my left leg so it appears to be buckled. That was in case I had to exit the vehicle real fast, i didnt have to struggle with the seat belt. I know its wrong and I shouldn't do it now but I cant help it. MNBOY...when you pull up next to another vehicle do you still stop with the front of your vehicle stopped at the back door of the car next to you? That way they cant look over at you? and do you still leave a car length between you and the car in front of you at a stop light or stop sign in case you need to get out of line? Old habits dont die...

Hey Dodgegirl, Sorry I didn't catch your post earlier.

Yes, I find myself still driving with both feet all the time. I also use both hands at times. Pull up behind a car, off set from it sometimes. Pull up beside the next car behind them, yes -- leave space to have to get out quickly, yes -- and leave both feet on each pedal just in case -- driveby a squad car that has a stop and slow to view the interior of the perpertrator car, even get the license at times, yes -- I even keep up my reverse driving skills, and still wave at the boys. I don't always miss the shift work, but the job was certainly worth doing -- not always, but you know what I mean. I still miss it after 18 years and I was in it for only 14! I even miss my EMT ambulance work, almost 20 in that. When Moparmike posted the photos of his stops of the Gumball guys, boy did that look like fun. Yeah, I still miss it. And the stories... wow.

I posted an earlier reply to your sister... I was just teasing, hope she has a good sense of humor like her pretty sister...

I'd hate to be in a race against you... if I were ahead, you'd probably tail-hook me into the fence!!!
LOL.

Hey mn..
Great pics..Yes I miss the heck out of police work. I left it to work at DuPont for the money. If it wasnt for the huge raise in pay switching jobs, I would still be in police work. Dupont just pays way toooo much. That is a shame police officers are paid less than a refinery worker. Oh well. I watch a movie last night that came out last year "The Island" and it is loaded with police Chargers. They sound great. Excellant movie except for the fact they total out about five nice cars. I was coming home from Austin Sunday and was driving through Houston to get to the Beaumont area and got into a race with a newer Nissan. I stayed right with him going about 120mph. His car is a heck of a lot lighter than ours so he would have started pulling away from me had he not exited. Friday going to Austin through Houston a mustang GT spanked me. Wasnt even a contest..BOOOHHHHOOOOOOO.

OOOOO CAAAANAAADAAA, Our home and native land...

Hope you didn't mind, I really do like your National Anthem! Especially at Hockey Night when they go nuts at the end and you get goose bumps on goose bumps. Since I live only 90 miles from the Canook border here in northern Minnesota, we get LOTS of blending of countries here. We always have several Canadian cars here in our car shows and participants in our races.

Sorry Silver R/T but I don't know which state have the Chargers... the MN troopers use the dark cherry squads with blacked out chrome that are very tough to spot and look pretty mean... that color scheme will look damn nice on a Charger...

Yeah, those steel wheels look mean. Heck, I still have a set off my old 1977 Plymouth Fury squad... the 8" wide slotted steels -- all five of them!

I just have to ask... have you been to the top of the CN tower there? It's GOT to be a rush!!!

Dodgegirl, I left because of shift work. I had three young boys then, and had a chance to stay with the county (keeping my longevity) and working in another office. I left the best retirement plan for the worst however, no more shifts -- just M-F, holidays off stuff. Boring, but darn nice.

I have learned from hanging with my boys and their ricer friends, that a four cylinder turbo can be tough to beat. I used to thing there is no replacement for displacement, but I don't even try against my son's STi. He's a tick off the 11s with a turbo four cylinder... running a 1.6 60' time.

The Mustang was probably supercharged. And who knows, what he really had. You can't beat them all. It's not worth it to try.

Your still number 1 with us...
