autostick or D which is better
First.. No one.. has ran a 13.9 on a unmodified new model charger. Lets put that to rest. Either it was moderate to heavily modified.. or the boast was entirely bunk...
Shift performance will depend on chip, programmer or stock.
Programmer with torque control off, paddle hold, rev limiter to 6200 ya still want to paddle the stick @ 55. You'll likely not run up against the rev limiter..and get the most out of the gear.
Chip.. Paddle shift.. revs will build quickly to 5400, but quickly hit the limiter. Best shift pattarn appears to be paddle @ 5200 and it should kick the limiter just as it dumps to the next gear.
Bare bones, stock, D seems to work real well.. WOL drops each gear at 5,500 and in my case, seldom shuttered from limiter control.
In any case, in the 1/4 mile you'll never see 4th gear. in the 1/8 mile you'll barely get time to get much into 3rd.
My best runs are done in maual paddle hold, with max revs to 2nd gear.. a quick run to just over 5 grand.. and a pause of 2+ heartbeats before catchin 3rd and hold the bottom of the throttle til the line. laps suggest that 2nd @ 5200 continues to maintain a substantial excelleration. I tend to try and hold the revs close to limiter in 2nd.. before manually catchin 3rd. I've learned along time ago, that the point to shift is when current excelleration is exceeded by the next gear. With this stock gear ratios, its a close issue which is the best gain to speed, 2nd @ 5,300 & 3rd @ 4,000 to 4,200.
If I had my way my charger would have a 2.5 gear.. 3rd looses too many Revs for my likes.
Be careful out there.. and Mapson.. behave and you'll always be welcome to our views.

I applaud you guys for taking your babies to the track. I dont have the nerve. Something I have always wanted to do but embarassed I would screw up. (female thing)..That and a perfectionist.
