mnboy - The reasoning behind a higher stall is better launch. Mine bogs off the line - tires spinning or not. It would, as you know, let the engine get into its power band and, hopefully, prevent bogging.

mango - don't know about any incentives. I will write back to them on Monday. I sent the e-mail from my work computer, but couldn't get back to them.

Dave,

I'd be really careful with a higher stall converter. Hate to see you scatter parts when you've got a 4,000 pound car waiting for the 4,000 RPMs to suddenly kick in.

You'll be spending lots of money stiffining up suspension, driveline, and transmission parts just to run that converter...

I still think it's a bad idea. Sorry.

I completely agree with you. I'm not going to do it. I just don't have the money to rebuild if I had to. I have no idea what kind of stall their trying to get, and don't want to take the chance. Mine may not be the quickest or fastest in the 1/4, but it's mine and I love it.
