It has been so long since I ran, I was just trying to gage the starting lights and get a good reaction time. I need to start as soon as the last yellow light comes on, but didn't quite manage to do that. dave

Hey Scamp - bring on down to Texas. Baytown to be exact. Pretty daumn close to sea level. I`d love to see your car and see what mine could be when I, er , it, grows up lol . Off the beaten path , the rumor is Baytown will only run the `07 season then the Angel Brothers are going to mow the track down and put up sub-divisions.[:'(] . Next big time tack is Dallas. But several 1/8 mile tracks close tho. Maybe I`ll give mine a try.

Scott, where is Baytown?
dave
Dave,
Baytown is where I run also. It appears to be 936 miles from Los Lunas. Just between Houston and Beaumont. It is the fastest track in the country, even you could break 15 seconds here, whih or without the mosquito foggers... Maybe even 14 seconds...

Dave,
Can you estimate your Density Altitude for comparison purposes? I used:
Density Altitude Calulator
It looks like when I was running at Sea Level the density altitude that day was over 2033ft !
My numbers were Altitude 10ft Air temp 86F Altimiter 29.92 (standard air pressure at sea level) Dew point 68
It would be interesting if when people posted ET, or performance numbers, they also posted the correction.
BTW I retried the calcs for a 50 degree day and the density altitude was -436 ft! imagine what a kick in the pants an additional 2500ft of altitude would give me!
For those unfamiliar with Density-Altitude it is used by pilots worldwide to determine engine output for takeoff roll distance calculations.

Dave , Baytown is southeast of Houston a little off of I-10 East. It is actually called HOUSTON RACEWAY PARK. I myself think it is second to none. I just hope the Angel Brothers don`t do as we have been hearing, BIG LOSS.
IXLR8 many Chargers there when ya go? I know there used to be a Mopar race and shine there but havent heard of one as of late.
Maybe when ya go back to Baytown you might could drop me aline and I`ll see if im off work - daumn shift work- maybe even hook up. We have an 1/8 mile track just south of me in a town called Angleton, not the best but better than on the streets.

IXLR8 - here's what I come up with. I used the dew point and barametric pressure for right now, best I can do.
Density Altidute = 7464
Absolute Pressure - 24.925%
Relative Density = 79.92%
So, now., what does this say about things? My times weren't too bad (I hope)?
