REMOVING STOCK EXHAUST BRAKET???
I JUST REPLACED MY STOCK EXHAUST ON MY 2006 DAYTONA, WITH A MAGNAFLOW CATBACK SYSTEM. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD TO REMOVE THE BLACK SUPPORT BRACKET GONG UNER THE EXHAUST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR. THE NEW EXHAUST WAS RESTING ON IT JUST A ENOUGH TO MAKE A LITTLE NOISE. I DONT THINK ITS A BIG DEAL ITS OF??!! THANKS.
Is that the black cross member you’re talking about? Your exhaust rides above it.
If that’s the one… I've heard talk of people wanting to remove them but never hear the definitive answer. My only concern would be if that cross member is there for support to keep the body from twisting.
Here’s a workaround (if not welded):
1. Unbolt the exhaust clamps at the midpipes and also after the muffler.
2. Use a short piece of a 1x2 board or something 1/2†to 3/4†thick and wedge it between the cross member and the exhaust pipe.
3. Tighten up the exhaust clamps.
4. Knock out the board from step 2.
See attached picture (cross member is circled in yeller). Damn I just love that picture, it's been so useful

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT WOULD DO. ONCE I KNOCK THE WOOD OUT IT WOULD SETTLE BACK DOWN AND REST ON THE BRACKET AGAIN. I DONT THIK IT IS GOING TO HELP WITH A CRASH IT IS TO SMALL OF A BRACKET. THANKS YOU PIC DIDNT WORK HERE IS ONE OF MINE. ITS THE BLACK BRACKET TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE EXHAUST. THANKS LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

Yep that's the one; temporally shimming it is a tried and true method to insure the exhaust pipe will not hit that cross member. Trust me; I've done this to several 5.7 Magies, Chargers and 300s. It will drop but not much, if it does come knocking onto that cross member again then there's another problem somewhere else that needs tending to.
<edit> I thought I posted that pic, here it goes again...
