Man, if you wanna demo out the alarm, just lock the doors with the key out of the ignition and let the alarm arm. After it's finished arming (the blinking speed of the red alarm light will slow significantly) try opening the door. You will now get the full (and often embarassing) effect of your car going ape-****-ballistic about being potentially stolen.
