Default planning my next upgrade supercharger

hi there all any ideas about the supercharger ive decided pretty much on doing it .i selected the forged anodized pistons with the dish for supercharger setup so i can add the super charger.propably late next year........any body wanna chime in with there 2 cents to either encourage or discourge such an expensive idea.mind you im already setting up the engine to be able to run nitrous or a supercharger.all the engine work will be done first.new crank cam rods pistons so by the time i add the sc or nitrous the engine will be bullet proof.

i couldnt offer you a suggestion about what sc to use but id say def use that instead of nitrous. i know nitrous can be a good thing when used correctly and set up right but i just dont like it. i dont know why i just dont. problly because i see alot of ppl that buy a slow *** car and then wanna slap a 150 shot on there without doing any other supporting engine mods and think they have a super car. but your car is coming along nice. btw you got my vote for cotm man, i cant wait to see what kind of dyno numbers and track times its puttin down once you get it all installed.

I say sell your charger and buy a SRT-8. Save yourselve alot of money. You can have the SRT-8 in the 12's all day with exhaust, intake, and headers and if you want some serious speed just add a 75shot of nitrous. And would have spent a total of 40k or you could find a used one with 5k miles for like 35k then you would only spend 38k. Cause with a supercharger you are going to spend atleast $6,500.

Better read up on the SuperChargers.moparmike was saying he researched them and found out they were leaning out on the front cylinders so he ended up selling it instaed on useing it.I do believe it was a GSM,his post should be archieved somewhere.

well im still thinking it over the only thing is that since the pistons for teh supercharger have a dish and the dish decreases compression if i go with the dished pistons i would be commited to the sc and maybe with some time like about a year a good one will come out, that will cover all the short comings the first one has.do you know if moparmike had the mods done like i will be getting because i figure my future engine should be an excellent breather making up for the front cylinder thining out just a thought .yeah i could get the srt8 but what fun would that be .

Supercharging would be really cool, IMHO. But do be careful about the leaning out thing. There is a guy here with a beautiful black SRT-8 who supercharged it and blew it up during the set up because it went too lean.

I'm sure he didn't do anything to the motor other than bolt on the SC, but I could be wrong. Anyway, it sat at the dealer for almost 3 months waiting for the parts for a rebuild. If I were going to go the SC/NOS route, it would definitely be the SC. Just think of the whine of that thing sitting at a stop light! Only problem is, no one would want to take you on!

Sounds like you have a really sound plan. My only concern would be the tranny. Does anyone know, for a fact, that there are any kits out, or any way to beef them up? We've all read about how sensitive they are - to the point where you have to take it to the dealer to get the fluid checked. Then, there's the rearend strength - Oh, so much and so little time. Either way, you will have, and now have, a "killer" machine. I envy you.

I would find a 2002 thru 205 truck motor without the mds and build it, take your motor and put it in storage and then when your throw a rod through the block you have the original numbers motor to put back in. Plus i think the truck hemis are a little beefier part wise.
