ok here is the question im debating porting the heads on the 5.7 or would it be a better idea to buy 6.1 heads since they would fit .but since ive ordered the pushrods behive springs retainers would they fit on the 6.1 heads mango what do you think.

 

Oh man, I believe the 6.1 uses different length rods. The spring/retainers should fit but need to do some leg work to confirm it.

<edit>The 6.1 HEMI push rods are slightly longer:
Intake - 6.650"
Exhausts - 7.850"

Comp Cam lists the same Spring part number for 5.7 and 6.1 (part # 26918)

im confused sxt what do you mean ? thats local for me so what do they swap out ?

 

If you get your gears swapped make sure they test drive it and if it goes into limp mode they put it back the way it was.

Work. So I assume any type
Of work Heads, Exhaust, Gears
Maybe even computer programming
Haven’t had time to call them yet.

 

oh so you called that dealership and did you speak to anyone in particular ? they specifically said they do custom work ?
