Are you taking them to a car wash and using high pressure "steam"; Gunk, or what?

I set it to the engine/tire clearner and spray it down then back to rinse but I don't pull the triger for high pressure.

 

Thanks, Mango. That's what I was thinking, too. I have the cover off of mine, and it seems more dusty than anything. Need to get her cleaned up.

I`ve seen posts where people are using a 3 to 1 mix of water and Simple Green mixed in a spray bottle. On a cool engine spray it down and let soak for about 5 minutes. Then use a misting wand or like I did, the spot free rinse at the car wash. Don`t want to soak the engine , just rinse it. Start your car to speed drying.
Oh ya DO NOT GET SIMPLE GREEN ON THE PAINT. Be sure to use a good rubber protectant on the hoses as it will make the hoses very dull in lustre.
