New Tires
Hey guys, just put new tires on the front of wife's "she makes me say that" Daytona. What a difference, the Michelins were pretty well spanked at 17000 miles. Went with Cooper zeon sports P235/55R18s, with a Z speed rating for those late night beer runs. Smoother ride and better handling, and quiet on the highway.

RE: New Tires
The Michelins that came on my Daytona were probably the best set of tires I have ever owned. After years of driving extremely high performance cars, this is the first car that came with tires from the factory that PERFECTLY matched the performance of the car! I have 17,600 miles on the odo and they look great. Ask anyone that rides with me, I have a lead foot, keep the ABS pumps working hard, and have made a few trips to the track. I have never had a set of tires that lasted this long, usually wearing them out in less than 10K.

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, they cost $180 each plus tax, but did include mounting and balancing. They balanced up nice one took 1/4 ounce the other only a 1/2. Wish my Michelins looked good at 17,000 they are shot, and I didn't spank them or even do one smoke show. Wife even likes the new coopers and you know how hard they are to please.lol.

RE: New Tires
Just changing mine now at 33,000 miles. I guess I should not complain about the Continentals then. But I still cannot believe that they put H rated on. Going with what I can get here; 235x55x18 VR Dunlop from Japan.
Question; How wide a tire can the RT take? 245, 255; and what about front steering and hitting the fender wells?

RE: New Tires
My experience with Michelin's have been the same as IXLR8. Have the same tires in a 17" size on the wife's 300m Special w/28K and they are still looking good. I have run Michelins on my other rides including my truck, MG, Fiat spyder and a Falcon S/W (my first car) and they tend to wear like iron and still ride and handle good. Normally I get 60 to 80K (with the Falcon) before the wear bars show. I wish they came in a 20" version cause I like the "new" American Racing TorqThrust rims which only come in 20's.
