Default 66 van

Greetings all,
I just hauled home a 66 van. I had originally bought it just for the 8 3/4 rear end. However on more thourogh inspection, all things considered, it is in pretty good shape. It has a slant in it now. How much trouble is it to put in an 8? did these come with 8s and if so is it just a matter of different motor mounts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

The 318 was available in '66. A lot of custom builders have put big blocks in them also. There's a few websites out there that deal with them, shouldn't be too hard to do a search to come up with some. Good luck with it- post a few pics of it!

Thanks for the info, I will search. I got this just for the rear end for another project, check www.mopardropheadcoupe.com. I picked this up for a hundred bucks. I thought I would pull anthing I needed and scrap/sell the rest but this might be a good home for a 360, 14" wheels with low profile tires to get it closer to the ground. The possibilities are intreging.

I hope I posted the pictures correctly.

Steve

100 bucks??? That was a real good buy! It looks pretty restorable, too. Not sure what the market is for them now, but the fans of them are a very devoted bunch. They usually have a fairly sizeable contingent at Carlisle every year.

Check out vannin.com, lots of van owners there with a lot of knowledge, and very helpful.
