Default 1974 dodge truck to 1978 clone.

I'm looking in to making my 1974 club cab look like a twin to my 1978 dodge. I'm almost certain the grills will interchange, mostly i'm concerned about the dash gauges and glove box doors. as far as i know thats the only differences between the 2 years, if anyone can think of any more please let me know.
Thanks -Chris

why? That's the question... Why not leave the 74 looking like a 74? if you really don't like it, sell it and get another 78, I don't understand making it look like a different year like that... I mean if it was a newer truck, say a 2nd gen Ram, and you liked the front clip on the 3rd better, and swapped that over, that's one thing, the 3rd gen truck is expensive still, but a 74 has a classic style it's own, and a 78 isn't very expensive, so it isn't something that makes allot of sense to me.. I dunno.. but to each his own I guess....

Good luck with whatever you decide... But I would just get another 78, and make them look like twinkies, if you want two twins.. That would be cool...

ok not to sound standoffish but i cant find one close to me(Within 1 days drive) that meets my needs of EXtended cab and not beat to death/ran into the ground as for a 78, as for the 74 i got that for a hundred dollar bill, dan it looks the same except the grill and dash. so from my stand point with a new child and not much time/cash it kinda makes sence, to make the 74 look like the 78, plus the 78 looks way better. and when was the last time anyone found a 70's dodge truck club cab for sell?

Unless you plan to run 2 pairs of parking lights you will need to change the valance under the grill also since 77-78 have the parking lights in the grill. If you do swap it wanna sell your 74 Grill. Its your truck and I dont see a problem changing the Grill or Dash. Im not real fond of the 72-74 Dash myself. Untill recently I had 18 Trucks including my wifes. Years range from 1952-2001. I did have every yr from 73-80 but recently sold a couple. I have 5 generations of trucks. No 90s though we skipped them all together. Got any pics. Oh yeah I just joined so Im new to this site

76Dodgeboy, I would like to ditch the 74 grill and valance but i need to find another in fair to good shape. If you have a 77 or 78 with the parts and are willing to swap, but i can find the orange 78 turnsignal lights. and ya the dash just dosent look as good. its like the new charger lacks style. it has nice wood grain but thats it, and i would have to hack it to put a new stereo in to it, not the case with my 78 just need an adptor. Let me know on the trade

ya sorry its been low on the list of must dos, but i will get then this weekend. and ya thats the grill but if you dont have the 78 turnsignals you might want to keep them, since they dont match my 78 dodge. also would you want the valance and the 74 turnsignals? i will have have no use for them besides ebay or the junk yard.
