Default New here

I am new to the forum and needing some help. I have a 1941 Dodge Truck and I am replacing a 318 with a 5.7 Hemi from a 2007 Durango. I have installed a new cam and decided while I had the front cover off to replace the seal. I purchased a lower end gasket set and installed the new seal which was somewhat different to the old seal. The damper/pulley has a slinger on the back of it that tightened up against the seal and prevented the crank from turning before I got it tight. The crankshaft and damper do not have a keyway in them. What am I doing wrong? Are there different front seals and dampers used with this application?
