Default Identifying '77 Colt Engine...?

Hello Everyone,

I have been trying to identify whether the '77 Dodge Colt that we have has a 1.6 or a 2.0 engine in it. Apparently, I'm told my VIN number is invalid :P. I called the local Dodge dealer, and their system doesn't even go back that far. Tried the local NAPA and CarQuest, and no go there either. They tell me I have the wrong VIN number. Then they told me that the engine size is stamped on the engine. Well, I've looked all over that thing and see nothing.

So, does anyone have a clue as to how I might figure out the engine size on this thing ?? I would very much appreciate it. And thanks in advance!
