Gas Pedal For 1955 Pickup

I am restoring a 1955 dodge pick up I was told this is the original gas pedal. I am having a hard time believing this because pedal is tiny. Your feed back please. Thank you .

I think the original pedal was something like this. it mounted to the floor, and would rest against what you show there.
