Default Front Axel Identification

Hey All

I have a 1972 W200 Dodge pickup and I want to rebuild the front axel. I have located the BOM number but doing a search online I am not able to find any specific information about that number. I did find links that post BOM numbers but I am unable to match my specific number within those sites.
My understanding is that once I decode the number it will give me all information I need to help find parts for it. I have posted the pics but if anyone can point me in the right direction to help decode these numbers it would be much appreciated!

Don

Dana 44?

There used to be a 'decoder' that you feed it your numbers, and it tells you what all it is.... That site seems to be defunct now though.

I has seen old posts about this decoder but you are probably right. I have not been able to find such a function.

It's a Dana 44 with a 4.09 gear according to the bom. Download a copy of the dana pdf here.

Considering the truck was built over 1/2 a Century ago, that isn't surprising. I haven't seen that Industrial Turquoise paint in decades! I had a 1970 D100 back in the mid 70's that color. Unfortunately, your 1972 is like my 1997 Dakota. Some parts are earlier years and some are later.

Didn't somebody write a song about that?
