Default Help with ID Engine Block 1936 Truck

Hello, my uncle passed away recently and left us what he identified as a 1936 Dodge LC pickup that has been sitting in his garage for years, but sans any useful paperwork. We're trying to id it with the DMV but, something seems amiss with the Engine Block number.. From what I've read Dodge 1936 Engine blocks started with D2- or D3-, but this engine starts with D24-. Has this engine been replaced?

From what I am finding, the D24 engines ran from 46-48.... So, yeah, I would guess the engine was replaced.
