Default 65 Chrysler 300

I am looking for some help on this, and am hoping that someone in here, either know's somewhere, or can find out somehow.

Basically, I have a 65 chrysler 300 that I am rebuilding for a friends father... Rebuilding the engine that is. It's a 383, 1970 block.

Here is what I would like to know. Does anyone have any idea what, either the origional engine colours were... Or have a link somewhere that can tell me what they were. Or... Tell me, if no one knows that, what would most likely be the most correct colour. So far I have read tw... both red, and blue. The engine has been rebuilt once (By someone who had no idea, what exactly he was doing) and was painted blue. But never held the colour at all. So I would like to give this engine back to the person, completely origional colouring and everything, for his restore project.

Any help would be useful, and appreciated. Thanks.

It should be tourquoise- the old Mopar paint code was P4120752; check with your local Dodge/Chrysler dealer to see if it's still valid or not. This is the link I found the info at: http://www.turbinecar.com/misc/enginecolor.htm . I have seen various vendors in Hemmings that advertise engine paint- pick up an issue and look under the Mopar parts or mixed parts sections for one of them, if you strike out at the dealer.

So you suggest turquoise? Thanks a lot. I have been looking into a few, and am sorta guessing something a long those lines actually. Most pictures show that sort of.. Not so normal engine colouring :P

P.S. Link doesn't work.

Sorry- my bad. The period at the end of the sentence messed it up. It works now.

hi Moe in Wichita, KS i had a 65 300L years ago. the tourquoise color is right. take a look at the left front motor mount, the 65 big blocks had an
unusual left front mount. the 70 motor may not bolt in, but a custom mountcan be made. is it a lettered or seires 300? if it is a lettered the grill will have a lens with a L in the center, with a light behind it, but use a low powered bulb in it, or it will melt the lens if you need more info on 65 300s email me
