Brake/Turn Signal Problems After Trailer Use
I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota club cab with the 4.7L engine and tow package.
I recently bought a used boat and trailer. The trailer had the light re-done and the I have new wiring couplings to the truck. I have towed the boat before and all lights worked correctly...until yesteryday when the trailer was in the water.
After removing the boat from the lake, my brake lights, hazzard lights and brake lights do not work on the truck or trailer. Even when I disconnect the trailer. All other lights work. The trailer lights still work but the truck will not turn on the brake lights or flash the turn signals.
I checked all of the fuses inside the cab but everything is OK. Are there fuses in the engine compartment or a relay or controller somewhere? How do I know if a relay or controller is fried?
Why did this happen? Is there something wrong with the trailer lights? It seems pretty basic.
Thanks
Scott
