hope it's not to late here... what year & motor do you have in your truck? the 3.9/5.2/5.9 motors like the 180 deg t-stat and autolite 3923's (non-platnum). if the one you buy doesnt have the air bleed hole in it, drill a small hole in the diaphram before putting it in. this will help with getting all of the air out when filling the cooling system back up.

Maybe I missed something, but, if is he wants the engine to warm up faster, and he already has a 180 degree thermostat, why would he want to stick with the colder 180 degree thermostat in the winter time?

Well, if it is the stock thermostat, it will bea 190-195 degree one. If it is the original one,the springis probably very very weak. This would cause it to open very early. Flush the cooling system, backflush the heater core, change the thermostat with a new 190-195 degree one, top off the fluids and you will have the best heat you will be able to get.

they've very simple to change, will definitely get some coolant on your engine but its not big deal.

After I changed it out I could definetly tell a big difference in the heat up process. Blows hotter air, and it warms up alot quicker. Thanks guys
