Alright here is where i sound like an ***. What do you meen by "cam the 5.9 and be done with it". I'm not being sarcastic, just don't know what you talking about. Is there one that would be better for my truck then another?

the above are links to places that have camshafts for the 5.9. i'm saying if you replace the stock cam with a more aggressive cam, along with an air intake and exhaust to allow better breathing, you will gain a substantial amount of power and probably the biggest bang for the buck.

racing my truckaganest your car proves very little. when you talk to people about fast cars, just askthem how many of there cars/engines have won NHRAs top fuel, SS/AH class. these classare the heavy hitters of drag racing.the SS/AH is the FASTEST stock class.oh incase you dont know the mopar 426 hemi donanates both class, and have from the time these class were formed. i was in tulsa in 1968 when Ronnie Sox raced the Hemi Cuda for the first time. but thats an other story.
ummmmmmmm...where did that come from?
Hey did you guys make it to the track?
Oh you could also put in lower gears in the rear end. You should have 3.92 stock ratio so maybe a 4.11 or 4.56 ratio would work. These can be very helpful if you do cam it as your motor will like a little higher rpm for its power band. Just remember that you will need a sticky tire for the launch or you will loose the race spinning the tires..........lol

I made it. My buddy backed out. But he said that he'll come with me this sat. I only ran the 8th and i pulled a 9.564 (best out of three). We'll see if he makes it this weekend. Either way i'm going. I'm addicted to this ****. I 'll race once more this weekend, and then i don't get another weekend off for five weeks (work rotation). my goal is to improve something at least every five weeks, and then race again.
