Default 1762 and no 1st!!

Ok so here’s the deal. I was having trans issues… not upshifting from 1-2. Dropped the pan, and there was my front band anchor, and a piece of a snap ring. So I dropped the trans out. Found that the snap ring was my overdrive direct clutch pack snap ring. Got that fixed. Also put the anchor back. Adjusted both bands, and put her all back together. Here’s the issue… the trans seems to be acting AOK, except for I have no 1st gear. At first, I do, and everything seems ok. But, then I pop a check engine light. The code is 1762, which is this:
P1762 (M) GOV Pressure Sen Offset Volts Too Low Or High The Governor Pressure Sensor input greater or less than calibration for 3 consecutive Neutral/Park calibrations.
P1762 (M) Governor Pressure Sen Offset Volts Too Low Or High Sensor input greater or less than calibration for 3 consecutive Neutral/Park occurrences. (4-speed auto. Trans. Only)

[/align]

Once I pop this code, no more 1st. If I reset the computer, no more code, and I got 1st. After a short bit, code pops, well, you get the idea, no 1st. So this is where I get confused… the trans worked fine (except for a loose band on the front drum due to the anchor), and now I’m poppin some code about the governor. Any ideas guys???

See if you can find your Governor Sensor maybee it has been damaged? How in the world did one of the band anchors wind up in the pan? Maybee a little bouncing around caused the sensor to be out of adjustment or just plain broken. I would see what i could find out about what the sensor voltage should be and see if I could figure out why the voltage is high or low depending on what it is.
