My 2001 4.7L 2WD A/T used to get 15~16MPGaveragerbefore. After some mods, now I am gettiner 20~21MPG average. My driving isapproximately 75%hwy/ 25% city.

>Bed cover
I did the mod one by one and the exhaust and the Superchip made the most improvement.

I've had my truck drop mileage and it hurts. These trucks initially have bad fuel mileage, but if it drops from there it stinks.
The main things that have killed my mileage are a bad water pump and (at a different time) a bad fan clutch. And winter fuel kills it too. I'm glad that it's about time to switch back to summer blend!

Another thing you can consider is spending 100-150 bucks and hookin up an electric fan... that alone will get you 20+ horse power and will help with gas milage being as your engine doesnt have to turn that heavy *** fan
