Default Goodbye Dakota... hello Family Vehicle

I just wanted to write to share my experience with all of you. I had an 02 Dakota Reg Cab SXT. I really liked it. It performed good, strong engine, good looks... but there were problems. Less than a week after I got my Dakota, the brakes locked up momentarily and spit up some smoke... at 70mph on the freeway! I took it in to have it looked at and the service techs said the REAR brakes were out of round. Whatever, but no problems for a while. Then recently, I started getting random losses in brake pressure. This was pretty freaky, especially since I live in the city. But the freakiest thing was going 80mph on the freeway and feeling the car start to slow down from front brake application... while my foot was on the gas. Coupled with all the hubbbub about the upper ball joints on Dakotas and Durangoes, I ditched that bad boy as quick as I could. Take a look at what I traded it in for in my signature. Good luck evrybody, and take care of your Dodges.

---Josh

You'll love the Focus! Their a blast to drive. I just sold my SVTF because I bought the house and could use the extra money for modding that

Check out www.focaljet.com (I'm a mod on there) That site is great for anything Focus related. A nice intake and few other tweaks will get that 2.3 scootin a little faster.

Thanks for the link and the well wishes... I'm sorry to see my Dodge go, but not really at the same time. I really like my Focus so far. We'll see how it holds up.

I know this isn't a ford forum, but...I you really wanna make that Focus scream, check out Kugel's Focus project. Found at www.kugelkomponents.com I bet that car is as fun as having a Dakota in some mud.
