you could get a hood mount, put it in the bed, or get a magnetic one for the roof. i wouldnt put it beetween the cab and bed. that will just hold dirt and stuff right there. if you live in the north where they salt the roads that could definatly rust. and that antenna should work. ive never heard of not being able to use a certain type of antenna with a cb. i have a president cb and a 4ft firestick

idk how many tools you have but mounts are really easy to make. ive made all of my own. this is the latest and the one that ill probably put on my dakota. just two holes for bolts to mount it and a bigger hole in the top for the antenna

also not gonna BS you. im no pro when it comes to cb's so i have no idea which one is the best, maybe someone else will chime in

I would think they all are good as long as you have it matched to your antenna. I like the weather band feature on my boat stereo.
It's been a long time since I used a Charlie Baker though. Do they have internal SWR bridges in them now?

go with the uni its the better quality of them. also there are meny meny different places to attach your ant. just remember any contact with the body you loose you ground out the signel and loose everything. the higher mounted the better but get a brake away spring so you dont snap off the ant. also theres probably someone in your area that can tune your swr to your firestick. well they do it have them adjust your swing and peak so you can up your output. you want about 30-45watts out put and about 25 to 30 watts input
