I am looking to buy a used Dakota 4 door 4x4. Probably going to be 2002 - 2005. What is a decent price for a sound vehicle? Which engine?

 

I jsut paid $12K for an excellent condition 2001 QC 4X4 with towing package, toneau cover, nerf bars, and 83,000mi. It has the 4.7L, which from what I can see is the preffered engine. It has lots of power for my needs. Price is below high book, but due to it's excellent condition and documented maintenance history, I felt it was worth it.

 

A year ago I paid 10,500 for my 02 with 82000 miles.

 

Try not paying over $20,000. They're great trucks, but... well you know.
