Default 2.2 TI Question

I just bought a 1987 Shelby Z from a junk yard with 2.2 Turbo I w/ auto trans, mileage unknown due to missing cluster (150,000 approx.). The interior is pretty well trashed anyways. I'm taking the rear quarters (They aren't rusty) for my 91 Iroc Daytona. My question is what car will my 87 2.2 TI Engine drop into without too much trouble. It doesn't even have to be a daytona. I'd like it to be a daily driver with a little get-up-and-go.

BTW heres my ride http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2520591, All you V6 Daytona owners make sure to check out my links & tell me what you think please!

Nothing in particular in mind at all, anything that won't require a whole lot of modifacation to put this TI in it.

A shelby Z with a t1? They must have swaped it in. I think the shelbys all came with the t2. Or atleast mine did, and all the others around town.

I'm new with the whole 2.2 engine so correct me if I'm wrong anywhere. Didn't the Turbo II only come with a 5 spd trans? This 87 is an auto. I know TI's came with an auto trans or 5 spd. Right?

The best way to tell if its a t1 or a t2 car is the t2 car will have an intercooler. I think you could get the t2s in a auto, but I am not sure. My area of experience is the dohc 2.2 motors. I just recently got my 87 shelby as a winter beater. Hope this helps. You can also check out www.thedodgegarage.com which is kinda concidered to be the TD bible. Lots of good info there. And when you cant get the answers you need on this site, there is a turbo dodge decicated site with some really awesome, smart, kick *** people over at www.turbododge.com Hope that helps.

Yes if you ordered a TII you had to have a 5 speed.
If you wanted a automatic you got the TI

Now you can drop that in any dodge that came with the 2.2
