is it possible to swap the non pop-up front end from a 86' lazer and put it on a 89' pop-up headlight front end?

 

I've seen cars that have something similar done, but i'm not sure you can only switch the bumber cover. You couldn't use the 89 hood, it would have to be the 86 hood b/c if the way it meets the bumper. I also think that the way the 86 bumper cover wraps around the bottom of the fenders to the wheel well is diferent, but i'm not definate. If the fenders need to be swaped then the side ground effects wont fit the same from the 89 onto the 86 fenders. So basically you would have to do some customizing, you might as well just swap the entire front clip and try to make it all work.
