Default SRT-4 in daytona

Is there a way to get a srt-4 engine in a 1990 dodge daytona. I really like the power that the srt-4 puts out. If there is anyone who know how to get one in write back please....Chris

The engine should fit, with little or no problem...

Should fit in the engine bay with no problem... Double check your tansmission though to make sure the engine will bolt up. If so, a couple of engine mounts and a new computer/wiring harness should get ya started in the right direction.

You'd be best to replace the engine and transmission as a pair and get the conversion kit to replace the SRT-4's modular clutch with a typical flywheel and clutch. You will need to make your own mounts and either use a stand alone or carry the electronics over. It would most likely be cheaper to get a 2.2L Turbo II and A-555 Getrag manual and build upon it since it's a straight bolt in using more common parts and they can easily be built up enough to surpass an SRT-4 swap.

71, thats what I was thinking. With the head swap from the 2.0/2.4 looking fairly easy, you'd gain the crossflow head and DOHC that would make the most difference. With the time, money, and headaches you'd save trying to adapt up the SRT-4 engine and tranny, you could get a lot of bolt on performance stuffed into the hybridized 2.2...
