ok well i had a head unit put in my car and it was all good for 4 months then last week i was driving down the road and i hit a pot hole and my two front speakers went out. By front i mean the ones in the doors. Well for a while they came on and off when they wanted to. so i wantto know if i should wire then to another speaker or is this a badd idea? Thanks chris

Have you pulled the speakers out yet? You might have a loose wire to the speaker. I would make sure the wires are tight on the speaker, then if that doesn't work, then go from there with what u suggested...

It wouldn't hurt to try it, but it's possible you could end up blowing the speaker...
Do both speakers go out at the same time, and come back at the same time too?

Could be, but I doubt it really...

Pull the harness off the head unit and ohm out the wires to the speakers...

If you don't get a measurement, or it says OL on the multimeter(digital), it's in the wires, but if it does work, then you may have a problem with the head unit itself....
