awd daytona
If you want allwheel drive or 4wheel drive in a car it would be easier and cheaper to get a talon/amc eagle/subaru/audi that already has allwheel drive.
You can convert it if you really want but you will be on your own trying to make it work for the most part. Rear wheel drive, not allwheel drive is the drive line conversion of choice.
Do you have any fabrication skills? If you don't you will probably end up spending well over $10K to have a shop do all the work for you.

This was actually brought up yesterday at my school (NASCAR Technical Inst.). We were talking about exlines RWD conversion and some one brought up the question of wether all wheel drive could be done. After MUCH discussion we figured it could be done, but it would take waaaaaaaay to much custom work. Basically reforming the entire floor pan to accept the awd setup. The engine would need to be mounted approx. 4 inches higher to clear the extra parts needed for the awd couplings, which would also mean reforming the inner fenders and firewall. Structural strength would take a hit there. The rear would need to be cut and reformed along the lines of the exline conversion, then have an independant rear suspension fabbed in. For all the trouble it would be easier (and way cooler) to do the rwd conversion, then go out and eat Hondas! LOL!
I already figured out my next custom project after the exline conversion on my 85- a mid to late 70's Jeep CJ-5 with a 500cid Cadillac engine from an old Fleetwood. We figured it would smoke all four tires from all the torque the engine puts out!
