Default blow thru conversion?

I keep hearing about this on Daytona and Lasers with turbos (other turbo, fwd mopars also) and was wondering what it is, how does it work, and how its done. Also what it does to improve performance.

This is for early Turbo I's which use a suck thru design, meaning that it suck the air through the throttle body before it goes into the turbocharger. The blow thru design was used on all later Turbo II and up motors where it draws air directly into the turbo and then out of it and into the throttlebody or in the case of an intercooled turbo it goes through the intercooler and then into the throttlebody. They did away with the suck thru design in favor of the blow thru in the mid '80's, so it obviously has many better aspects to it which would take longer to break down here.
