Default Intercoolers

Anyone have any suggestions about upgrading the location and intercooler on my 89 daytona? I was thinking spearco but they are kinda expensive, and I could get one of a conquest or something like that, Is it worth it to relocate it behind the bottom air scoops in the front. Would using my old intercooler in that location do anything hp wise?Suggestions please.THANKS!

Well, you could always get a spearco or an NPR intercooler and re-route the pipes through the hole created by removing your stock intercooler. It would be a slightly better location than stock, and there is room for larger. I wouldnt bother relocating your stock one. If you have A/C, you cant do it though.

If your looking for a nice easy swap and a performance gain, the Indy intercooler is boasted as giving a 15 horsepower gain over the stock intercooler. Here is a link to it, it is on the right side half way down the page: http://www.forwardmotioninc.com/html...airsystems.htm

go to a place that recycles aluminum , around where i live all the trucking shops take the old intercoolers and radiators , i bought one the other day for 30$ they sell them by the pound like 60 cents . and the one i got was 49 pounds . they have a bad spot in them somewhere so u would have to check for leak . these things are huge the one i got is 4 foot long 3 ft wide and 3 inc thick . cut a chunkof core out and put end tanks on and there u go high flow inter cooler for cheap . i thought about making a couple and selling them .
