Yes, you need a coded transponder key, i.e., "chipkey" for your car if you plan on using it in the ignition... should be a standard item for a 2003... if anyone knows of any reason why you wouldn't please correct me because I haven't seen it.

yes u can only get it at the dealer and ur looking at about $50. You can also do what i did and get a couple of regular keys made at lowes or somethin just in case u lock your keys in your car. they only work in the doors but at least you'll be able to get into the car
