Where is my truck?
Ok so I ordered a SLT crew cab on 1/5/2009. According to the dealership it shows as Shipped on 2/19/09. Today is March 3rd and I still don't have a truck. The dealership has no idea where it is and I have called chrysler and the indian cust. support keeps telling me that the only information they have is that it was in KZ status which I guess means it's done and ready to ship. The guy keeps telling me to have my dealership contact the "business center" for more information. But my dealership has no clue what a "business center" is and what the number is. The Indian guy wouldn't give me the number because he said it is confidential. CONFIDENTIAL??? Is this a top secret spy plane we're building?? ARGH!
I live in St. Louis and it was built in the Warren Michigan plant. Can it really take two weeks+ to ship it here?
Does anyone know what the business center is and a phone number or even a phone number for the Warren plant?
I wouldn't be so frustrated if they could simply tell me where the truck is or why it's not being shipped.

kynig, I feel for ya. When my wife ordered her Tahoe, they said it would take about 4-6 weeks, they'd call me. Well 8 weeks later they call and tell us the truck shipped and that we would see it soon. Then about 2 wks after that, they called and said the truck was on the train about 2 miles from the dealer but that they didn't know when we'd get it because the RR union went on strike and nothing could be unloaded from the train. I was pissed and told them I'd wait one more week then we were going shopping for a new tahoe at a different lot. I was bluffing of course because it was the first time my wife had special ordered a vehicle and she wasn't going for anything else, but didn't matter, we got the call exactly 1 week before the deadline. Still have that 98 tahoe today. Jeff.
Unfortunately that happens sometimes. When my brother ordered his Challenger SRT8 he went through several delays in the shipping process. To include a week of it sitting at the rail yard where it was unloaded. The rail yard was within an hour of the dealership where he purchased the car from.
Your dealership has a system that they can access and it tells them the last place the vehicle was. Such as loaded on a rail car, specific places the train stops during transport, when it was unloaded, etc. So if your dealership is telling you they can't find out anything I don't necessarily believe that.

Still waiting for my truck... it's been 9 weeks now since I placed the order. I called the dodge cust srv. line and they again told me it was built but not shipped and they told me to call my dealer. My dealer thinks it's on a train but they don't know.
This is nuts. Why is it that I can track a 2 dollar ebay item purchased from Italy but dodge can't track a $40,000 truck from Michigan to Missouri?

I've already given them a $1,000 deposit to order the truck via credit card. I'm not sure I can just "walk away" without losing that. If my dealer could give me some concrete answers instead of the usual "I don't know" and "I'm not sure where it is" then I wouldn't be so frustrated. It's odd to me that the truck has been "built and ready to ship" for almost 4 weeks and it's still not here.
I couldn't agree more ... I can't imagine it would be that difficult for vehicle manufactures to have a public web site (for dealer and/or customer use) where you punch in a VON#/VIN# that gives you an up to date status from order all the way through to shipment to the dealer. Think about how much time would be saved on the phone with the customer service reps that put you on hold to retrieve the information about your build/shipping status...
