Prices are pretty much at historic lows, or at least they were in Feb & Mar. The last time prices were this good was 2005. Not even when they were clearing out the '08s were they this good.

Mar 28 sales on Ram ended, the good sales anyway. At least in Canada. I am sure there are different sales but people were getting employee price plus some low financing. The dealer had 13 trucks gone in one day

Employee pricing has been extended another month. Prices probably won't get any cheaper. Not to mention who knows what is gonna happen with the auto industry in the next year.

If you want a truck the present is a pretty good time to buy. You should be able to get a good deal.

That is the way I felt so I jumped on it, I bought a fully loaded 09 Ram Crew Cab, got $11,000 off MSRP. I love the truck.

I'll tell you what, ... the current incentives have forever changed the way I will go about buying a truck in the future. I used to buy a new truck when I thought I needed a new truck, and would haggle endlessly with the dealer to try and get a decent price, perhaps getting the truck for a discount of $3000 to $5000 off of MSRP. This time I bought a truck for a discount of $10000+ off of MSRP, and I bought the truck because it was a GREAT deal, not because I necessarily needed a new truck right at this moment.

I'll buy my next truck when there are deals this great again, and not necessarily when I feel like I need a new truck. If deals like this come around every 2 or 3 years, thats fine. If deals like this come around every 3 or 4 years, thats fine. If deals like this come around every 7 or 8 years that is fine as well. If deals like this never come around again, ... well, thats why I'm using synthetic oil and doing meticulous maintenance. But the point is, I've decided it is stupid to pay what dealerships want for these trucks without the big incentives. I'm very happy with the new truck, and very happy I purchased in March for such a great price.

I now have 3 cars for only my wife and I. But the truck comes in handy in my line of work.

Well, a recession of this caliber might only come around once or twice in a lifetime. So stock up on that oil!! I've never heard of them knocking off so much off a truck.

But you are right. I didn't necessarily need a new vehicle right now. But with deals like this, why wait half a year or another year to purchase. I got a little more than 13k off a nicely loaded Laramie. I didn't expect that much off before I looked at the Rams. I would have been happy with 8k-10k off.

I purchased at the end of March, and I feel that April might be the last month to get really stellar deals. Stellar in the sense of 12k off or more. But only time will tell. At best, it will continue into May, but I doubt the deals will get better than the first quarter and April of this year.

If the economy starts getting better and Chrysler pulls through, the deals are gone.

But, when is the economy going to get better? It is a gamble to wait.

Hate to say it but I dont think Chrysler will make it, unless they can come to an agreement with Fiat. Secondly, the economy will take at least another year to improve to a level where carsales will improve. If you can afford the car and want the car, get it now....unless you are worried about re/sale value

I was thinking about something, if they do not honour warranties, I won't honour payments, I put nothing down got 18 grand off got my employee money from the last contract still didnt use it so that helped. So right now I have absolutely nothing into this in fact the dealer took over my lease car. So I am not in bad shape yet.
