Advice for Showdown
My brother and I are going to the track in late October for a little grudge match. I know everyone on here says don't put too much into magazine numbers but I have driven both trucks and there is definitely an off the line advantage with his truck. Let the advice fly on this one. I have a completely stock 09 RAM sport with 392's and 4x4. If you had $1000 or so to spend and you were going up against a 08 Tundra Crewmax 2WD with TRD Intake and Borla exhaust, what would you do?
Yes, I will post a vid of the race.

Just use an 09 RCSB, I already know from experience that will beat a Tundra, might be more than $1000 though
I think you will find your Ram has more mid to top end than the Tundra, from a roll odds are in your favor. From a dead stop, if you are both stock, it will be close. They are both quick trucks.
My ideas and I would appreciatre comments on this and more.
I already talked to the local shop about ordering the diablo in hopes the tunes are ready to be downloaded by then. I would also consider intake and exhaust and love the look of the Mopar CAI but $420 is steep compared to what I have seen the AFE etc. From reading I also know to take off in manual mode in 2nd gear in order to access 2nd Prime. Any other advice???

What he said X 10000000. Will blow the fenders off of that tundra and will cost you 650> I have had nitrous in every car I have owned.I fight myself every day to not put on a sick 2 10lb bottle, big solenoid NX kit I have laying in my garage. Maybe after that facking tuner comes out , Ill get a tune done for a 125-150 shot just incase

Regular Cab Short Bed. Mine weighs around 4750lbs (4x4) and a 2WD is even lighter. There is one gentlemen who has run his at the track at just about 14 seconds flat in his 09 Hemi 2WD RCSB. Regular cab Rams and Tundras can get up and go. As you may know, the 09 Ram R/T can do 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. The 09 QC and CC Hemi's are not too far behind though esp with the 3.92's.
For once, I am in agreement with you.
Other ways? Lighten the truck. Take out the spare tire and maybe even those vibration weight things. I am sure those weight are a good 20 lbs a piece. There are what, 4 or 6 of them? Run it with a 1/4 or 1/2 a tank instead of a full tank. Take out everything you don't need in it, tools, tow straps, etc, etc.
Make sure you have a clean air filter as well.

If he doesnt know how to set up his truck for racing you stand an even bigger chance. He has to disable traction control, stability control (nannies) and engage his Automatic LSD. If not, the motor will cut power and kils his times. Dont know if rams have that same problem or not. Not to mention he has the heaviest configuration of tundras. He's good for a low 15 high 14 sec 1/4 stock. should be close, Intake and Exaust dont add a whole lot of power w/o a tune, and your already up 10 horses.
