Default Factory Trailer Braking Module

Does anyone know if the factory trailer brake module being offered in the HD pickups will work in the 09 1500 ? If so, any chance anyone has a part number...thanks..Joe

dont quote me on it but when i looked at the 2500 on display at our state fair this year it did look like it would be a direct replacement for our little cubbyhole above the park brake handle. Haven't found a part number yet but I have been searching everywhere to find it. I'm betting the 3/4 ton trucks have the exact same one that is an option on the 2010 1500 trucks.

I am sure it will fit, but the question will be if the 2009 will have the harness for it installed (unlikely) or if there will be some programming change or activation that the 2009 does not have capability to do. There is the possibility that Dodge will offer is as a MOPAR accessory, and maybe it will retrofit to the 2009 models (we can hope).

Default trailer brake module

I just went to Dodge.com and searched the 2010 Dodge options. It looks like it is a $230 option. Hopefully, it will be a direct bolt on my 2009....Joe

+1, it is a factory option on the 2010 ram 1500's, fits into the little cubby our trucks have on the left hand side of the steering wheel down by your knee. should be plug and play- if dodge put any forethought into these trucks, there will be a wire harness for them behind that cubby. haven't pulled mine apart to check yet, though.

There is a blue female plug that I believe the trailer brake hooks to. There is another grey one right below I don't know what that is for but would like to and a couple of small white plugs hang off of the main harnesses..not sure what those are either.

you are right 72combo, the blue plug is supposed to be for a trailer brake and i'm betting the factory installed one will just plug into that

Has anyone contacted the dealer to see how much the brake controller will be.

The parts guy from 2 dealerships said that it will not be available due to the way it is integrated with the sway control. Hoping that they are wrong though.
