Default Bluetooth hookup for RES

Hello Everyone~I have a 09 Ram with the RES radio and want to link my Blackberry through the Bluetooth function on my radio.

Do I need a kit to do this? When I push the Uconnect button or the little Bluetooth button it just says uconnect not available or something like that.

Any help would be appreciated.(I have a buddy who just got a Tundra, and his works without any add ons. I can't let him go around thinking his truck is better than mine.)

Thanks,
Doug

Unfurtunatly you will need the add on. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the box is mounted on the passenger side front fender. remove glove box and look to the right and up a bit.

You have to buy the kit to have Bluetooth functionality. It was an option when the truck was ordered. Looking under the dash, you will not find anything as you have to install the box. Go to Mopar accessories and you can see the kit, even look at the install instructions. You can buy it online for about $200.

If your buddy nags you, just remind him that your truck was cheaper and that this was an option.

It is 257, easy to install but must be starscanned by the dealer after, now it is a half hour charge but it took 14 hours and 2 dealerships to get mine to work. It was their problem, not knowing how to following directions on the starscan I suspect LOL>

I have the RES radio as well, but mine didn't come with the uConnect button. Does your head unit actually say RES in the bottom right corner?

There are 2 versions of the RES radio. If you don't have the RES with the Sat receiver, then you don't have the button and require a different upgrade which is more expensive.

The one you need will come with a remote button that you can stick to the dash or whereever the instruction say. It does have a wire attached so you might be limited. Good luck.
