Default Car wash Mirrors, & Antenna

This might sound stupid, but do you have to take off the antenna, and fold in the mirrors on the truck prior to entering a car wash.

Never done either one. Remove the antennae? That would get old in a hurry.

I you are going into a car wash that comes into contact with your truck, do not enter....

Hand wash or pressure only if you truly care about your truck.

How do you feel about loads of gravel in the bed?

It's a truck not a corvette

I run mine through at least once a week and never remove the antenna, the attendant folds the mirrors in.

I use to go through th wash with my 07 without folding the mirrors but my 10 has wider mirrors(not tow mirrors) so I fold them because the sprayers use to come pretty close to my old ones, and I do love my truck but go through the car wash from time to time to knock the big stuff off since I'm offshore for 3 weeks at a time and dirt an pollin build up pretty bad. I've never removed the antenna guess it just depends on what knd of wash you going thriugh

It might be a truck, but if you really want your paint job to last, you'll listen to him.

Don't even go a manual car wash and use those brushes on the paint job.

His reasoning is that those ribbons, wheels, and brushes all pick up sand, dirt, gravel, and every other thing that you can think of. Use it on your paint and you'll leave scratches all over the place.

I don't even like using pressure washing, but I do just for the ease.

I run mine through once a week. I do remove the antenna but never fold the mirrors and have never had a problem. I do truly care about my truck and that's why I keep it clean. I hear that all the time, don't run your Truck through a was where anything touches it, well truth is Ive never been to a touch less wash that actually got my truck clean. Ive taken my chances and never had an issue. Hand washing my truck is just a pain in the #%^.

My last truck,1998 1500 (dark red)I got compliments all the time about the shine and condition of the paint. It was run through car washes all its life.Twice a year I paid car wash for a hand wax while I waited.$49.00 I think.I sold it and the folks couldn't believe how nice the finish was.Go figure.YES I remove my antenna AND fold my mirrors in.I have seen damage done where those items about got ripped off the vehicle.
