hey trashman that's what i do haul trash yes it does cover the hole but there are little screws that hold it on that you can unscrew the light bar to access the winch hole never had to do it on any truck that i have had just lucky i guess

redram i guess we have similiar taste all the way around diggin the inferno red same as mine.. i had a 60'' light bar in my hand and decided against it because of the spare winch hole location. might have to go get it it looks pretty good. how hard was it to splice the pigtail into the harness.

does your light bar have the reverse lights ? not hard to do at all ! just get the 4 prong pig tail that plugs into the light bar then get a test light do you have the tow package on your truck with the 4/7 pin hook ups ? just take off the plastic clip for the spare winch and be real careful were you mount the light bar as there is not much clearance in between the light and tailgate !!! hell i work for republic circus/services drive a frontloader in nevada

yep tow package with 4/7 but i want to leave all that stuff alone what i was wanting to do is to splice into the 4 and hide the actual connection behind the bumper. I am lucky enough to work for waste management brand new Mack frontloader sure wish i was in NV. not OH

What's the best way to tap into the trailer wiring harness to make a quality connection that is sealed from the elements? I don't want to use the 'vampire clip' connectors. I prefer the idea of soldering things together but unless I totally cut the stock wiring I can't get heat shrink on to seal it. Other ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

i just used the blue wire clips and taped it up real good much easer if you sell the truck to remove it never had any trouble but i live in the dry desert . just skin the wires then solder them up
