swapping out roof clearance lights
just picked up a set of smoked recons off ebay, unscrewed one but it seems like its almost glued? to the roof. it looks like there is a rubber gasket, but it seems that gasket is attached to the lights. anyone have any experience?
O i will, but what im saying is that I cant get the stock ones off period, its as if they are glued on. Im trying to figure out how to get em off without damaging the truck
Not sure about dodge, i know the ford ones just pop off with a flat screw driver and snap right back into place. Just use excessive force and see what happens, only one way to find out.

I put a set of Recon smoked cab lights on my '07 and had horrible luck with them. Even though the lights are "sealed" they kept getting water inside and corroding the contacts to the point the lights would die. After peeling 3 of them off the roof (I used a lot of silicone) to replace them I threw in the towel and purchased a set of OEM ones from Dodge (I had 15 freakin' holes in the roof to cover).
The OEM ones should be the same as any others, some silicone used to seal them to the roof. I would expect you should be able to work them loose if you wish to change them out, but I'd really caution you to think about using the Recons...
