Performance Tuner
Hello everybody!
I just traded in my '10 Toyota Tundra TRD for a new black '11 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab w/ the Sport package
. Absolutely have always loved dodges, especially the newest generation.
My question to you guys is about a tuner. Before I bought my new dodge, my brother had owned a '10 Ram with the Hemi and was using a Diablo Predator tuner before he traded in his Ram. Before he traded in his Ram he cleared the tuner from his truck. Last night we tried setting the tuner up on my truck but we didn't have any luck tuning it to my truck? Is this because dodge hasn't released a tune for the 2011's? Also, what are your guys thoughts on the Diablos? Is the Superchip a better choice? Your input would be of great value. Thanks

It's because Dodge changed the OS for 2011. It's not cooperating like previous years. Superchips is actively working on it, but it may be some time before release.

Just curious, why did you trade a 2010 tundra ? Did you get 3.92 gears on the Ram? Just asking since my buddy has one with the TRD package and 4.30 gears we have taken to the mountains, I'd be happy with one.
Yes, I did love the powertrain that the Tundra with the TRD/Towing Package offered. The 5.7L I-Force motor matched very well with the 4.30 axle ratios; it was an powerful combo. I thought the Tundra was VERY fast and I loved how much power it had right off the lot. With all of this said, however, I simply love the dodges more at the end of the day.
In my view, the dodges simply drive better than the Tundras; the Tundras shifts are a little choppy and the pedal can be a little too senstive at times because of the high gears. Also, I flat out just think the dodge is a much better looking truck. I had a black tundra trd with a 2.5"/1" lift and 305 BFG A/Ts and I've already gotten way more turned heads in my dodge in just two days than I did in a year with the Tundra. I just love the look and feel of my new dodge. The 5.7L Hemi w/ 3.92 gears is also a fun combo to drive with as well

About how long should we expect before diablo releases a tune for the 2011's? I want it lol. I raced my brother's '11 Ford f-150 with the new 5.0 and I surprisingly could not shake him; we were dead even. Both on a 0-75 race and then from a 50mph punch race. I was very impressed with the new ford motor but I was shocked I didn't win.

I agree. I was shocked that we were tied, ford made a HUGE change with the 5.0 compared to the 5.4. I have always liked fords but always thought it was ignornant how they put such underpowered motors inside their toughly built trucks. Now I can at least look at a Ford and respect that it's a great work truck and now a powerful truck...still love the dodge better though
