Do you guys have any preferences on muffler swaps with the factory dual exhaust set-ups? I know I'm definitely going to be putting in an exhaust cut-out on the truck so the muffler doesn't need to be overly aggressive as I'll leave that to the cut-out, however, I would like to have a muffler that offers a nice tone. The only thing I'm concerned about is the MDS. I remember my brother's '10 Ram drove us crazy when he ran the flowmaster 40 series because the switch from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders was such an ear ache. Anything you guys have had goodluck with?

Lots of Magnaflows used. Keeping or not keeping the resonators also has a big effect.

Something tells me that if I choose to swap the stock muffler out I'm going to want to turn the mds off because I will go crazy hearing it switch between 4 and 8 cylinders constantly. I REALLY love the sound of Corsa but they are irritating; they only sell their entire catback kit and not just the muffler. My truck came with factory dual exhaust, what makes them think I would want to touch that? Greedy bastards I say..

I also forgot to ask this, what are people doing with their exhaust? Are you guys replacing the stock dual exhaust systems? I see that magnaflow, corsa, and flowmaster all offer complete kits. Is the exhaust that comes factory with the dual exhaust flowing as is or is it considered restrictive? Would doing a simple muffler swap suffice or should I look into buying a kit that eliminates the resonators etc.

This is my personal experience.

I purchased a Mufflex Muffler Delete kit, and put that on my truck, and man it was loud, but aggressive. My neighbours didnt quite care for it when I go to work at 5am. So I ordered an AeroTurbine 3030xl (XL means it has a built in resonator) A muffler shop welded that in for me.

The sound is deep and aggressive, I find it much more aggressive then the Magnaflow catback (I swear every dodge I see has Magnaflow)
Its almost silent at cruising speed, I cant hear MDS kick on and off with it.
At 70+mph, with cruise control on you can feel the grumble but barely hear it.

I went with Mufflex ( check out their website and sound clips). It is a Magnaflow 14", 18" or 24" ( your choice ) one in, two out , free flow muffler. It has the custom size extension pipes already welded to the muffler for a perfect swap on a Ram Hemi Sport with factory stainless dual tails pipes. Stock muffler comes off real easy, it is a 30 minute mod in your driveway, have someone help you so they can pull the tails out so you do not let em drop onto the ground. I had to cut another groove with a jig saw on each of the outlet and the inlet pipe opposite their groove because they did not pinch tight enough when you cranked on the clamps but two years now and no leaks. Easy do it yourself mod and no welding needed of you just put another groove so you do not need to crank on the 3 clamps.

This is my 14" Magnaflow single in dual out with the factory resonators left on. Has a great aggressive sound. I get alot of comments on it.

You don't need a MUFFLEX as it has outlet pipes. You already have duals, reasonators, chrome tips etc. Get a Magnaflow XL series muffler. Think they are 14,18 or 24 inch long. Have a muffler shop put it on or find a muffler shop that carries them. Leave your reasonators etc. You will see no power or fuel mileage increase from stock to a aftermrket muffler.

The Mufflex is just a retro kit for the muffler swap, you use all the factory tails etc, it just allows a perfect muffler swap exactly where the stock muffler was using same hanger locations. It is a Magnaflow with presized extension pipes already welded for a do it yourself less than 30 minute swap with just a ratchet. Not sure what you are talking about here.
