Default TPMS light stuck on!!

2011 ram 1500

the stupid light wont go out!! heres a timeline of events, sorry im short on time.

tire went bald. light came on.
put spare on. still light on.
put all new tires on truck. light still on.
inflated from 35 to 40 PSI, light still on.
been 200+miles. light still on.

every time you start the truck, it dings, says low tire, and stays lit. what gives?

Well, it is possible the sensor in the tire that went flat was damaged as the flat tire was being driven on. Doesn't take much to wreck one, apparently.

What happened when I got a flat recently was:

got a flat. light came on.
put spare on. still light on, which makes sense because the tire was still flat
fixed flat and reinflated. light still on for a few minutes.
light went off after a couple minutes of driving.

Hopefully you know which wheel had the flat so you can have someone look at it. If not, you may need to see if the dealer can diagnose which sensor is acting up.

I think its a broken sensor. I had a similar problem on another vehicle of mine. Those sensors tend to be very fragile, every time I had a tire rotation I had one in particular that would break and cause the light to stay on. The dealership was usually pretty good about replacing it free of charge since it was them that broke it.

Before replacing it though I would check and have them hook it up to the computer, there were a few times that it was actually a computer glitch and they just reset it.

Well the spare tire doesn't have a trasmitter in it so that would be normal if the light was on with a spare tire on. If you have new tires, then maybe they didn't reinstall the sensors into the new tires. I'm assuming you know how the TPMS works, but I'll explain it anyway to tell you what I think the issue is. Each tire has a transmitter in it that talks to the receiver that is on the wheel hub or somewhere close to that. If you replace a tire (or all 4 like you did) on your truck and it doesn't have a transmitter in it, then your TPMS will stay on forever. Since you have replaced tires recently, I'm guessing that is the issue. The only other thing would be a bad sensor somewhere or a bad connection.

Doesn't the 2011 tell you individual tire pressures? If so then what is it reading for pressure in each one?

I wonder just how correct it is. I have 2 real nice gauges I use and they both read 2 pounds higher than the sensors.

My sensors are withing 1-2 pounds of the reading on gauge, which is close enough for me to trust them.

Probably a broken sensor they are fine as long as nobody has to touch them, when the dealer replaced my rims due to corrosion they had to replace one and they rebuilt all the others, just a new nut and some other parts. Where did you have the tire fixed. Should be under warranty still too.
