Default mil light after hard acceleration on highway

Second time I got a mil light after accelerating hard on highway, last time was 5 months ago, d/c negative on battery and reset mil, seems to be an intermittent error code, has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know how to get the 09s to display the actual code like the older trucks via the evic?

Sounds similar to short runner valve issue cable was too tight and caused issues after hard accelerations. Here is a bit on the codes it throws :

I had a suspicion this is what it might be, unable to retrieve codes, and truck is out of bumper to bumper warranty, . obviously this is user replacement parts, guess I'll do it myself.

I got the same answer...keep fighting it. It's the P1004 short runner valve. It's covered under warranty and yes...even the powertrain. Had to call chrysler...mine goes in next week for it. The issue is it doesn't give a code right away and bad fuel is easy to blame. With todays standards on fuel, unless you fill up on an empty tank and go to a gas station that never sells fuel, getting bad enough fuel to throw a CEL is HIGHLY unlikely. The computer systems in these trucks will compensate for almost everything.

Are you sure its covered under the powertrain if the basic 3/36 is over, I thought the powertrain did no cover electronic, although they should cover since this is obviously a defect and should be a recall.

just went to Orlando and got the light from hard accelerating so I left it on the whole 4 hour trip, running at around 75 mph with cruise control I was able to get 19.6 mpg, thinking about leaving the light on since this is the best mpg I have ever got at this speed, first time it happened I was able to get over 21mpg.

Thanks for the info (uashemi).

Do these trucks store codes even if we clear the mil light by removing the battery negative?

Probably gonna call Dodge to pre-empt the dealer, they tried to tell me the flash for the ECO light wasn't covered under the 3/36 when I had it done, had to go through Dodge to make them do it under the warranty, looking to get the lifetime maxcare with the 100 deductable, gonna keep this truck awhile (at least 10 years) and seems like a steal at 1800 dollars.
