Usually around the driver side headlight area behind the grill area.

According to the FSM it is behind the grill (requires grill removal to get at it).

Manual isn't any more specific than that

Curious, having any issue with it? There was a flash way back when that addressed/shortened the delay from the time you started the engine to when the reading would update.

Not yet (knock on wood!). I bought the truck about 2 months ago with 43k miles on it and from what I can tell (or at least when look down) the readout comes on right away. I guess either the flash was done or it didn't give the previous owner any problems, maybe?

The reading was always displayed, but took a while to update.
Sounds like you'll be fine.
Meanwhile, congrats on the truck and welcome to the forum.
